'Volutes' is a series of colored inks created on a sheet scaled to the dimensions of the body. The artist uses large, handmade brushes onto which he applies colored inks. These colored arcs reflect the spectrum of white light.

Jean Marc Munerelle generates, through sweeping gestures, a calligraphy absent from today's alphabets — involuntary imitations of the multidimensional spaces imagined by String Theory.

A single thought animates the author's gesture: the white light that bathes our world is only visible in its incompleteness, in the form of color. It is the landscape of a quantum world where our intuition surrenders to the surprises of the infinitely small and the divinely vast.
